This College was Started in 1972 with the faculty of Arts & Commers. This College has been stated as a center of higher education by VYWS Society Amravati. Which was established in the year 1965 . under the Chairmanship of Late Prof. Ram Meghe , Farmer education minister of M.S. Br. Ramrao Deshmukh renowned personality in the Field if Co-operation, politics & education and industrialist Mr. Jawaharlal Kapadia donated funds to VYWS, the reform the faculty of Arts has been named offer Dr. Ramrao Deshmukh & Conmerce faculty has been named offer late Indirajit Kapadia. College progressed under the Chairmanship fo Prof. Ram Meghe & Started Science faculty in the year 1991. Earlier to that in 1976 Jr. College with Arts & Commerce starting & in 1978 Social Work department and in 1991 MCVC was started. The faculty of Science has been named after late Nyamurti Krushnarao Deshmukh . During the Academic year 02-03 vocational course Computer Application was added to the subject of faculty of science college comes under section. IT of the UAC Act. Therefore UGC has been constantly providing funds/grants for development of the college.UGC sectioned grants for network resource center for organizing trekking camp of the students for purchase for lab equipments of book and for construction of building during various plan period UGC also provides funds for minor research project of lecturers four lectures from Jr. College were selected under FIP UGC for Ph.d thesis work & three of them submitted Ph.D thesis to SGB Amravati University for award of Degrees & one teacher has been already awards Ph.D by University.

Recently UGC sectioned grants for running vocational course sericulture at UG. Level & college has stated the said course form the session 07-08. Further more with the assistant provided by VYWS under the Chairmanship of Shri. S.R. Meghe College started a PG course M.Sc organic chemistry from the session 07-08. College has well equipped labs for Geography. Home Economics, Commerce, Computer Sci, & Application, Botany, Zoology, Phygics, Chemistry. Ect

College library has about 13,000 books and number of journals, News papers, Magazines have been subscribed. College library has been computerized and has library software. College office is using office software since last five years & has been computerized. College has been accredited by NAAC, Banglore with B’ grade.

Jr college was started in 1978. Arts faculty has political science, econamice history, geography home economics as optional subjects. Commerce faculty had economics, Book keeping & Accountancy, Co-operation, organization of commerce and secretarial practice as optional subjects minimum compitancy vocational course was sterted in 1990 with treds maintains & repairs of electrical domestics appliances, Accounting & Auditing. Auto engineering technology and bifocal course was started 1978 with subjects Banking & small scale Industries & self employment. About 60 students are admitted for MCVC & 50 students for bifocal.
